Defunct terrorists' outfits join TTP

KARACHI - Splinter terrorist groups have joined Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and are planning to target police officials, who are adhering with the terrorism cases, The Nation has learnt here on Saturday.

According to the source, former DIG Investigation Manzoor Mughal, former chief of CID Mir Zubair Mehmood, Chief of CID, DIG Saud Mirza, former SSP CID and SSP Lyari Raja Omer Khattab, SSP CID Fayyaz Khan and AVCU Chief Farooq Awan would be the main concern of defunct terrorist organisations.

He further pointed out that the defunct terrorist organisations have set line of action and made a joint strategy in which they have planned to kill senior police officials involved in the crackdown against terrorist organisations.

Various splinter groups of defunct organisations including Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Jaish-e-Muhammad, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen 313 Brigade have contacted Baitullah Mehsud, chief of TTP.

The group is currently headed by Rahmatullah alias Naeem alias Ali Hassan son of Wilayat Khan. Rahmatullah is the resident of Street number 3, Shehzad Cinema, Qasba Colony, Orangi Town. Reports of intelligence agencies revealed that 35-year-old Rahmatullah used to wear Sindhi cap. He firstly joined Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and came in limelight after the blast at Orangi Town police station.

Later, he joined Harkatul Mujahideen 313 Brigade and successfully achieved various targets of terrorism included bomb blast at Nishter Park and the suicide attack on Allama Hussan Turrabi.  Source further pointed out that Rehmatullah group activists belong to Karachi or have roots in Karachi like Khalid alias Darawala, Qari Abid Mehsood, Mufti Ilyas, Colonel Tufan, Qari Hussain, Abdul Wahad Mehsud and Faizullah Mehsud.

Reports also revealed that Qari Hussain Mehsud provides and trains suicide bombers and Abdul Wahab Mehsud is running a training camp in remote areas of Pak-Afghan border.
